Mid century dining chairs. This is a set of four vintage mid century modern ladder back dining chairs manufactured by British furniture maker Meredew during the 1960s. The frames feature a classic four slat horizontal ladderback design constructed from afrormosia (often referred to as African teak). Complemented by gently tapered legs. Very stylish chairs that will stand out in any modern or contemporary home. The fabric seat pads do not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended in 1989, 1993 and 2010) so would need to be replaced.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The chairs are all sturdy but there have been some glue repairs at some point. Frames are marks and scratches commensurate with age. The fabric seat pads are all marked. They though do not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended in 1989, 1993 and 2010) so would need to be replaced.
